Our Experience
Our operations began in 2004 in Latin America, traveling with thousands of students across the continent on outdoor and experiential education programming. In 2012, the Envoys brand was established to catalyze a new standard for global education, with initial programming in Colombia, China, Ecuador, Peru, South Korea, South Africa, and the United States. Envoys’ thoughtfully developed operational systems and clear educational mission catalyzed our expansion to over thirty countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Currently, more than thirty full-time employees work in our procurement, logistics, risk management, and traveler service teams, with hundreds of full-time and seasonal field staff spending thousands of collective days each year with groups of students in the field.
On a daily basis, we design and create unique educational experiences, from joint high school baseball scrimmages in Osaka to discussion groups with North Korean defectors in Seoul, interviews at nursing homes in Havana to immersions with microloan recipients in Lilongwe, multi-day treks with nomadic Berbers in the Atlas mountains to shadowing emergency responders in Washington DC.
We recognize the necessity of experiences outside of the classroom to develop globally competent youth, and we believe that educational travel must meet the same high expectations that have been placed on the rest of the education sector. To that end, we utilize rigorous evaluations to drive our performance and communicate our results, both internally and externally. Every curricular element is field-tested and regularly assessed for its effectiveness at meeting learning goals.

“I can honestly say that these were the best days of my entire life. I feel as though I have grown as a person, and that I have made lifelong connections. This experience changed my life, so thank you very much to the entire Envoys staff!”

“The Envoys staff were very open about sharing their first-hand experiences, which was a game-changer in terms of learning about post-apartheid South Africa. Also, having everything planned to the T made me feel very safe. I knew that I was in good hands.”

“The Envoys staff were exceptionally committed to us and to the goals of our trip. They were thoughtful, kind, caring, friendly, with a great sense of humor, yet serious in their connection to the ethos of professional development that was our trip’s purpose. I was struck over and over again by how they literally RAN to be in the right place to respond to any given situation.”
